ABOUT

Hannah DiStasio

I’ve always been drawn to understanding people- how our early experiences shape us, why we respond the way we do in relationships, and what actually creates lasting change. That curiosity led me to earn a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Liberty University and a Master of Arts in Professional Counseling from Dallas Baptist University. But more than the degrees, it’s the relational work itself that keeps me invested. I care deeply about helping people make sense of their patterns and move toward healthier, more secure ways of living and connecting.

My work is grounded in a relational therapy lens, with a strong foundation in attachment theory, family systems, and the mind–body connection. I integrate nervous system education and regulation skills into our work because I believe lasting change isn’t just cognitive, it’s also physiological. When we understand how our attachment history and nervous system responses are driving our reactions, we gain the clarity and steadiness needed to create healthier patterns.

I primarily work with women who feel overwhelmed, stuck, or exhausted from holding everything together. Many are thoughtful, high-capacity women who tend to overfunction in relationships. They struggle with boundaries, people-pleasing, perfectionism, and feeling “too much” or “not enough” at the same time. They’ve spent a long time managing, fixing, and carrying more than their share, and they’re ready to stop just surviving and start actually living. Together, we slow down, untangle patterns, strengthen emotional regulation, and build healthier attachment- both with others and within themselves.

My approach is holistic and person-centered. I consider the whole person- relational history, nervous system patterns, beliefs, and lived experience. As a Christian, my faith shapes the way I understand healing and human dignity. I’m comfortable integrating faith into the counseling process for clients who want that, and equally comfortable keeping our work clinically focused for those who don’t. I meet you where you are.

Therapy with me isn’t about fixing you. It’s about helping you understand yourself deeply enough that real change becomes possible. You don’t have to keep white-knuckling your way through relationships or carrying more than is yours to carry. If you’re ready to do the work, I’d be honored to walk with you.
