ABOUT
Destin Brannon
Life has a way of bringing us to our knees at times. It can seem impossible to navigate the emotions and losses that come with being human. We often increase suffering by judging emotion negatively or attempting to avoid it altogether. It doesn’t have to be this way! I’d love to help you learn to process emotion in a way that fosters acceptance and healing. I specialize in working with adult individuals struggling with grief, anxiety, OCD, body image, life transitions (ie: college, parenthood, divorce, spiritual deconstruction), and caregivers of children with special needs. I work with clients from religious and non-religious contexts. I am a proud LGBTQ+ ally.
Spending 16 yrs as an occupational therapist before becoming a counselor gave me a unique perspective of how the body, mind, and emotion work together. I am primarily trained in Gestalt, IPNB, and mindfulness theories, however, I will tailor the approach to match YOUR needs. My therapeutic style includes being empathetic toward your suffering AND challenging you towards growth.
Building a therapeutic relationship on a foundation of trust, authenticity, and compassion is so very important to me. I desire to create the safest environment possible for your healing. Asking for help is courage, not weakness, and you do not have to do this alone. Call or email me today to get started. “We’re all just walking each other home.” -Ram Dass
