Chris McMullen – Counselor

Chris McMullen

Specialties: Couples Counseling, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Sex Addiction Counseling.

History: My path into the counseling profession began with a desire to observe and a curiosity to simply understand. When I was in high school, I became increasingly interested in what pushes people to act in certain ways. I found myself filled with questions regarding the hurts, scars, and behaviors of those around me. You may have heard the familiar saying, “Hurting people hurt people.” I know this to be true, and it is part of my story. I know what it feels like to be addicted. I lived it. With every broken promise to myself and others, cycles of shame and hopelessness seemed to take residence in my life. I know what it means to work through addiction, and my passion is to help others who are facing similar struggles. I am here to help you walk through the difficult process of healing and restoration as you continually understand who you are meant to be. I offer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing, Cognitive Processing Therapy, The Gottman Method for Couples, and I also utilize tools from Certified Sex Addiction Therapy. While I come from a Christian and Biblical worldview, I am not limited to faith-based therapy. My desire is that you feel accepted as you are, and I am eager to begin this journey with you.
